Whatever's Gone Wrong,
We've Fixed It Before
Toilet problems run from mildly annoying to genuinely urgent, and each has its own root cause. Here's what turns up most in Adelaide homes and businesses:
What a Running Toilet
Is Really Costing You
It's tempting to shrug off a running toilet, but the numbers add up fast. A worn inlet valve or flapper can waste 200 to 400 litres a day without you noticing — at SA Water rates, that's hundreds of dollars a year down the drain, literally.
The fix is usually quick and cheap — a new inlet valve or float pays for itself in water savings within weeks. Not worth putting off.
Try this test: Add a few drops of food colouring to the cistern and wait 15 minutes without flushing. Colour showing up in the bowl means you've got a silent leak through the flush valve, even if you can't hear a thing.
