What That Drip Is
Really Costing You
A tap dripping once a second wastes around 31 litres a day — over 11,000 litres a year, gone before you've even used the tap on purpose. Pick your drip rate below to see the real number:
Repair It, or Is a
New Tap the Better Call?
Most tap faults are quick, cheap fixes — a new washer or cartridge costs next to nothing and takes minutes. Replacement tends to make more sense when:
The tap body itself is damaged or corroded. Surface corrosion or a cracked body can't be fixed by swapping internal parts — the whole unit has to go.
Parts simply aren't available anymore. Older or less common brands sometimes have discontinued components, leaving replacement as the only realistic option.
Several things are wrong at once. A tap needing a new washer, O-ring, cartridge and handle all at the same time is often cheaper to replace outright than patch piece by piece.
You just fancy an upgrade. Plenty of people take the opportunity to upgrade a functional-but-tired tap while we're already there — we can supply and fit a new one on the spot.
You'll get an honest call on site either way — we don't push a replacement when a repair does the job just fine.
